Police arrest 68-year-old man following serious hit-and-run in Paphos

A 68-year-old man was arrested Monday evening following a hit-and-run incident on Agora Street that left a 28-year-old woman with serious injuries.

The accident occurred shortly after 7 p.m. under circumstances that remain under investigation. According to initial reports, the driver struck and dragged the woman as she attempted to cross the road. Witnesses at the scene indicated that the driver fled, leaving the injured woman behind.

The woman, who has mobility issues, was quickly transported by ambulance to Paphos General Hospital, where she is being treated for serious injuries.

Police, acting on witness accounts, were able to identify and apprehend the driver, a 68-year-old British national. An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
