A low pressure system is affecting Cyprus ahead of the weekend, with temperature highs reaching 37 degrees inland with levels expected to rise gradually on Monday.
Friday skies will be mostly clear in the morning while cloud formations are expected from noon and onwwards in the mountains.
The sea will remain relatively calm, while weak to moderate winds in the early parts of the day are expected to pick up in the afternoon in the south and southwest, where speeds will range between 4 and 5 points on the Beaufort scale.
Clear skies are in the forecast for the weekend while increasing afternoon clouds will also be in the picture in the mountains
Temperature highs will reach 37 degrees Celsius in the interior, 30 in the west, around 32 in all other coastal regions, while it will be 28 high up in the mountains.
Evening weather will remain mostly clear with foggy and cloudy skies expected overnight in local areas. Temperature lows will drop to 20 degrees in the interior as well as in the north and out west, around 22 in all other coastal regions, while it will be 18 high up in the mountains.
Clear skies are also in the forecast for the weekend while increasing afternoon clouds will also be in the picture in the mountains. Light fog and low clouds are also expected overnight Saturday and Sunday.
Temperatures through the weekend will remain within normal averages for this time of the year, while levels are expected to be on a gradual climb on Monday mainly inland and in the mountains, slightly above normal averages.
