It’s getting hot, folks. Today’s high could hit a sizzling 36°C inland. If you're by the coast, expect it a bit cooler at around 31°C, and up in the mountains it’ll stay relatively comfortable at 28°C. Basically: shade is your friend.
The skies will be mostly clear today, but don’t be surprised if a few clouds gather over the mountains by midday. Some of those could drop a quick, isolated shower. Nothing dramatic, but maybe enough to surprise hikers and people with laundry outside.
Winds will start out from the northeast to southeast and swing around to the southwest later. They’ll mostly be light to moderate (that’s 3 to 4 Beaufort, if you're fancy), with some areas feeling a bit of a stronger breeze (4 to 5 Beaufort). The sea will be just a little choppy, but nothing wild.
Tonight, things calm down. Expect mostly clear skies again, though you might see some patches of fog or low clouds here and there, especially in cooler spots. Winds will shift again, this time coming from the northwest to northeast, and stay light to moderate. Evening temperatures will dip to around 22°C in most areas, and a cooler 17°C if you're up in the hills.
Looking ahead to Wednesday through Friday: more sunshine, barely a cloud in sight. And yes, it’s going to keep getting warmer. By the end of the week, temperatures will climb above what's typical for this time of year.
So hydrate, slap on some sunscreen, and take it easy out there. Summer’s in no rush. It’s settling in for the long haul.
