A male driver died at the wheel on Thursday afternoon in Larnaca when his car veered off and struck another car on the opposite side of the road.
Police said a 64-year-old man was driving his vehicle on Gregori Afxentiou Avenue in Larnaca, when suddenly his car veered off and entered into the opposite lane. The car then struck another vehicle which was parked on the right side of the road.
The autopsy is expected to show whether the man died of medical reasons or as a result of the collision
The man was found unconscious in the driver’s seat and was rushed to the Emergency Room at Larnaca General Hospital, where doctors pronounced him dead on arrival.
Police are not ruling out that he may have suffered a heart attack or died of another medical condition.
A post mortem scheduled at 11am on Friday is expected to show the exact cause of death and clarify whether the man died of medical reasons or as a result of the collision.
There were no reports of any other victims in the accident.
