A man was killed in a serious accident in Tseri on Thursday night, when a vehicle collided with another car and then ploughed into a parked car with a couple waiting to pick up their daughter.

According to media reports, a female driver was driving her vehicle on Tseriou street around 7pm, heading towards Chalepianes, when she attempted to make a right turn onto a side road. As she was making the right turn, another vehicle driven by a 30-year-old male in the opposite direction collided with the turning vehicle and rolled over.

One man reportedly died in the accident, but officials did not disclose any details initially out of concern for the well being of his distressed family

Following the collision, the overturned vehicle kept its speed and crashed with force into another car that was parked on the left side of the road, with two passengers inside, also causing it to roll over and trapping both the male driver and female passenger inside.

The couple in the parked vehicle, a man and a woman, were later removed from the wreckage by fire fighters who arrived at the scene. They had been waiting inside the car for their daughter to come out of a tutoring class, according to reports.

The female driver and two others were rushed to the Emergency Room at Nicosia General Hospital to receive medical treatment.

One man reportedly died in the accident, but officials did not disclose all details initially out of concern for the well being of his distressed family.
