A Nicosia doctor, accused of kidnapping, beating, and raping his former partner, is now facing trial after being arrested by local authorities. The alleged assault took place on August 24 in a neighborhood of the capital, sparking a swift investigation by the Nicosia CID.
The accused appeared in court today, where a judge will decide whether he remains in custody until his trial begins. Police have pressed for continued detention, citing the severity of the charges.
