Roller coaster temperatures with rain

Unseasonably warm weather this week despite gradual drop, some rain and dust through Wednesday

A relatively warm air front is affecting the area over Cyprus with air quality warnings and chances of afternoon showers through mid week.

Monday weather will be mostly clear but at times skies will be cloudy with chances of light rain and possibly thunderstorms over local areas.

Very strong winds are expected along the southern coast as well as in the east, while moderate levels of road pollution are expected to appear on and off through Wednesday.

A temperature drop on Thursday will bring temperatures further down but still above normal averages for this time of the year

Maximum highs are expected to reach 37° degrees Celsius inland, around 35 in the south and in the east, 33 in the rest of the coastal regions, while it will be 27 up in the mountains.

Evening weather is expected to remain mostly clear but cloud formations are also expected on and off. Minimum lows will register at 22 degrees in the interior, as well as on the southern coast and in the east, around 19 in all other coastal regions, while it will be 18 up in the mountains.

Tuesday skies will be cloudy with chances of rain as well as possible thunderstorms mainly in the mountains. Wednesday and Thursday are expected to be mostly clear but afternoon clouds could be associated with local showers and thunderstorms mainly in the mountains and inland.

A slight temperature drop is expected on Tuesday while levels will remain noticeably above normal averages. A further drop on Thursday, mainly inland and in the mountains, will bring temperatures further down but still above normal averages for this time of the year.
