In a recent announcement, the Meteorological Service has issued a new warning regarding high temperatures. This advisory comes as a result of an anticipated rise in temperatures in certain regions. The maximum temperature is expected to reach approximately 40 degrees Celsius in specific inland areas.
The warning is scheduled to be in effect starting from 11:00 AM on Wednesday, extending through to 5:00 PM on the same day. Residents and authorities are advised to take necessary precautions during this period of heightened temperatures.
The weather forecast indicates the influence of seasonal low pressure on the region's weather patterns. For the day ahead, clear skies are expected with periodic localized cloud cover in the early hours. As the day progresses, elevated cloudiness is projected in higher mountainous terrains, possibly leading to isolated instances of rainfall.
Initial winds will be mild and subject to change, blowing in from the southeast to southwest. By afternoon, the wind direction is predicted to shift predominantly to the southwest and northwest, remaining gentle to moderate in intensity. Coastal waters are anticipated to be calm, with slightly choppy conditions in specific western areas.
Temperature variations across the region are anticipated. Inland temperatures are set to rise to around 40 degrees Celsius, with southern and eastern coastal areas expecting temperatures of about 34 degrees Celsius. Other coastal regions should experience temperatures around 32 degrees Celsius, while higher elevated regions will hover around 31 degrees Celsius.
Tonight's weather will predominantly feature clear skies. However, heightened cloud cover is predicted in certain western and northern coastal regions. The potential for patchy fog formation in localized areas during the early hours cannot be ruled out.
Winds during the night are expected to originate from the northwest, transitioning to the northeast direction. Light winds are projected for most areas, with slightly stronger southeast winds along the northern coasts. The sea is likely to remain generally calm, with marginal choppiness in certain sectors.
Temperature-wise, a decrease is forecasted with inland temperatures dropping to around 22 degrees Celsius. Coastal areas will experience temperatures of approximately 24 degrees Celsius, while higher elevated regions will see temperatures around 20 degrees Celsius.
The subsequent days of Thursday, Friday, and Saturday are anticipated to remain predominantly sunny. Periods of intermittent cloudiness are likely, particularly over the mountainous regions during the afternoon. Temperature fluctuations will be minor on Thursday, followed by consistent conditions until Saturday. Expectations indicate temperatures continuing above the seasonal average during this time.
