Three foreign nationals were injured during a police and immigration operation at an apartment complex in Larnaca on Wednesday morning after reportedly jumping from balconies while trying to avoid detection.

One man remains in extremely critical condition at Larnaca General Hospital with a severe head injury. He is being treated in the intensive care unit after falling from the third floor of the building. Two other men, aged 28 and 38, suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries after jumping from the fourth floor and landing on a lower level of the complex.

Emergency crews, including the Fire Service, took part in the rescue effort. A telescopic platform was used to remove the injured men from the second floor and transfer them to ambulances waiting nearby. Police sealed off the area around the apartment block for several hours during the operation.

Authorities said the coordinated action was carried out by members of the Immigration and Migration Service to locate people residing illegally in Cyprus. During the raid, officers arrested 22 foreign nationals staying at the property. Investigators later confirmed that all 22 were living in the Republic illegally.

Police stated that the three injured men attempted to escape once they became aware of the officers’ presence at the complex. One of the injured individuals has not yet been formally identified.

The Larnaca Criminal Investigation Department is continuing inquiries into the incident.
