If the weather forecast feels familiar by now, that's because Cyprus appears to have found its favorite summer playlist and put it on repeat.
Once any early-morning mist, fog and low cloud clear away, the island can expect a mostly sunny day with only the occasional patch of cloud drifting through. By the afternoon, however, those innocent-looking clouds may start plotting something more interesting over the mountains and inland areas, where isolated showers or thunderstorms could develop. Some of these storms may even bring hail, just to keep everyone paying attention.
Temperatures will reach around 34°C inland, while the west coast once again enjoys the cooler end of the bargain at about 27°C. Elsewhere along the coast, highs will hover near 29°C, while the higher mountains remain the place to be at a pleasant 25°C.
Winds will blow from the southwest to northwest, generally light to moderate, although southeastern areas may experience stronger gusts at times. The sea, meanwhile, remains calm and cooperative, with only slight waves expected.
Tonight will be mostly clear, although low clouds, mist and patches of fog are expected to sneak back into some coastal and inland areas as the island settles down for the night.
Looking ahead to Friday, Saturday and Sunday, the weather department appears to be working from the same script. Sunny mornings will give way to developing afternoon cloud over the mountains and inland regions, bringing the chance of isolated showers or thunderstorms. Hail remains a possibility wherever storms decide to make an appearance.
Temperatures aren't planning any dramatic moves and will stay close to, or slightly above, seasonal averages. In other words, summer remains comfortably in control, with just enough afternoon unpredictability to stop things getting boring.
