The US Central Command revealed yesterday, via X, that over 569 metric tons of humanitarian aid have been successfully delivered through the artificial pier established by the US armed forces. However, reports from the United Nations indicate that not all of the aid has reached its intended warehouses.
Amid mounting international pressure on Israel to increase distribution to the besieged Palestinian enclave, aid shipments commenced arriving at the dock on Friday. The United Nations disclosed that ten shipments of food reached the World Food Programme (WFP) warehouse in Deir al-Bala on Friday, transported by the agency's contractors.
Concerningly, on Saturday, only five trucks managed to reach the depot, while eleven others were reportedly emptied by Palestinians en route from areas with limited aid access, as noted by a UN official speaking anonymously. Furthermore, the UN did not receive any aid through the pier on the preceding Sunday or yesterday, Monday, adding to the challenges faced in the distribution process.
