The met service issued a yellow warning for extreme heat expected on Saturday, when temperatures are expected to reach 41 degrees Celsius.
The yellow warning will be in effect from 11am until 5pm on Saturday.
The heat is expected to be concentrated in inland areas, with temperatures forecast to range between 31 and 33 degrees Celsius in coastal regions, and 31 degrees in mountain areas.
