Cyprus employment getting better
Total employment in the 4th quarter of 2017 increased by 3.2%, compared to the corresponding quarter in 2016, the Statistical Service of Cyprus reported on Wednesday.
It said that the actual hours worked in the 4th quarter were estimated at 177.16 million, presenting an increase of 3.2%, compared to the corresponding quarter of 2016.
According to Cystat, the total employment in the last quarter of the previous year was estimated at 398,312 persons, of which 349,781 were employees and 48,531 were self -employed.
The highest increase was recorded in constructions, administrative and support services, in the arts, entertainment and recreation and in real estate activities.
