Forty-five Cypriots have expressed interest in being repatriated from Lebanon, according to Theodoros Gotsis, Press Spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The transfer will be facilitated by a Greek Air Force C-130 transport aircraft, provided by Greece at the request of Cyprus' Defense Minister.
Speaking to CNA, Gotsis said further updates on the repatriation are expected later in the day.
Earlier reports indicated that 105 individuals had initially shown interest in returning to Cyprus, but the final number seeking repatriation dropped to 45.
When asked about any requests related to the Estia program, Gotsis confirmed no new updates following the National Security Council meeting earlier this week.
