The Health Services Organization (OKYPY) has filed a complaint with the police regarding the mistreatment of a patient by hospital staff. The incident came to light after the patient's spouse reported that a nurse had confined the patient for hours in a small room at Nicosia General Hospital following a procedure.
According to OKYPY spokesperson Charalambos Charilaou, the police have already begun gathering statements, and the organization conducted its own investigation, concluding yesterday. The findings will be submitted to the Central Administration this morning, which will proceed with further actions.
Preliminary investigations suggest potential issues that may require disciplinary actions by the ethics committee. The inquiry focuses on all individuals involved, encompassing everyone present in the specific room at the time.
