A 60-year-old woman from Paphos and her dog fell victim to an attack by two dogs. The incident occurred at around 16:00 on Thursday afternoon (21/9) while the woman was walking her own dog.

According to police, the unnamed woman was attacked by two dogs, resulting in injuries to both her and her dog.  She was transported to Paphos General Hospital, where doctors discovered she had suffered a fractured leg from the incident. The police are actively investigating the case, aiming to identify the owners of the two dogs responsible for the attack.

Meanwhile, in an unrelated case, the Paphos District Court issued a 10-month prison sentence to a 58-year-old man who, on June 19, injured his neighbor's dog with a shotgun. The individual was found guilty of multiple offenses, including illegal possession of a firearm, illegal possession and transport of explosives, shooting in a residential area, and harm to an animal.

The incident unfolded when the 40-year-old owner of the injured dog, residing in Tremithousa, heard a gunshot while at his home. He rushed to find his dog in the yard, injured in the right front leg by shotgun pellets. He observed his 58-year-old neighbor in a car, holding a shotgun and leaving the scene. The dog received veterinary care for its injuries. The guilty party was sentenced to a 10-month prison term by the Paphos District Court, marking the resolution of this case involving harm to an animal.
