Another delivery driver was attacked and robbed in Nicosia, with police saying he was flagged down by an unknown person who stood in the middle of the road.
According to Nicosia police, a 24-year-old delivery man was transporting a food order on Wednesday night in Strovolos, when he was flagged down by an unknown person who was standing in the middle of the road.
Police have made some arrests in the past in cases involving attackers who had placed a food order prior to the attack
The incident took place around 10:30pm, when the delivery driver slowed down upon seeing a man in the street. At that moment, according to a complaint filed with police, a second person who was hiding jumped out and assaulted the delivery driver.
An official police report said the two perpetrators proceeded to hold the driver down while managing to grab his waist pack before fleeing the scene on foot.
Police did not specify the nationality of the delivery driver or the amount of money that was stolen during the incident. It was also not specified whether the man was carrying food to a location or returning from a delivery.
Similar incidents have been taking place in other areas of the capital as well as other districts. Police have made some arrests in the past in cases involving attackers who had placed a food order prior to the attack.
