Police say a food delivery man was attacked and robbed on Tuesday night in a western suburb of Nicosia, after another biker flagged him down.
According to police, a 27-year-old male was on a fast food delivery run in Lakatamia on Tuesday night, around 9:30pm, when he was flagged down by another biker.
Reports said the delivery man, described as a Pakistani national, was riding his motorcycle when another biker coming from the opposite direction honked at him and signalled him to stop.
The perpetrator then grabbed all the money out of the delivery man’s waist pack and fled the scene
When the delivery man stopped his motorcycle he was assaulted by the biker who started kicking his legs and striking him on the head. The perpetrator then grabbed all the money out of the delivery man’s waist pack and fled the scene.
Police said the delivery man had a swollen foot and cuts on his left arm following the assault. He reportedly did not sustain head injuries with reports saying he had been wearing his helmet at the time of the incident.
An official statement from law enforcement authorities described the alleged perpetrator as white male approximately 25 years old, with slim build, around 1.75m tall and with short dark hair.
CID Nicosia is investigating the case.
