Authorities in Limassol have extended the detention of five Nigerian nationals in connection with the death of 30-year-old Victory Osarumen Thompson. Victory was discovered dead in her apartment during the early hours of Sunday, 9 November 2025.

The suspects, aged between 24 and 35, reportedly told investigators that they returned from a night out to find Victory in a highly agitated state. They claim their actions were an attempt to restrain her after she allegedly attacked one of the younger suspects.

Investigators say evidence suggests the incident involved repeated physical attacks over a period of approximately two hours. A broken broomstick found at the scene is believed to have been used in the assault.

The ongoing investigation examines charges including premeditated murder and conspiracy to commit murder. Authorities are also considering whether additional offenses, such as operating a brothel, may apply.

So far, five separate forensic examinations and investigations have been carried out. Government psychiatrists have assessed the suspects and determined that they are fit to participate in judicial proceedings. Investigators are also reviewing surveillance footage, telecommunications data, and plan to gather over 40 more witness statements.
