Good Friday arrives with a sky that seems to understand the mood of the day; quiet at first, a little unsettled, then gradually clearing as evening approaches and communities gather for the Epitaphio processions.
The day begins partly cloudy, with the chance of a passing shower in the west and north during the morning hours. Nothing too persistent; just a brief interruption for those heading out early. As the day moves on, the clouds begin to thin, giving way to mostly clear conditions by the afternoon.
By evening, as the Epitaphio is carried through towns and villages, the weather is expected to cooperate for the most part. There may be some increased cloud in western areas, with a slight chance of isolated rain, but most regions should enjoy calm, dry conditions, if a little breezy. Winds will pick up through the day, blowing from the southwest to northwest at 4 to 5 Beaufort, adding a noticeable chill once the sun sets. A light jacket might be a wise companion alongside the candle.
Temperatures will reach around 21°C inland and about 20°C along the coasts, dropping later in the evening, while the mountains remain cooler at around 12°C.
Tonight, clouds may gather again, particularly in the west, where a stray shower cannot be ruled out. Winds remain on the lively side along the coasts, and the sea continues slightly rough to rough. It will be more of a backdrop than a concern for most.
Holy Saturday brings intervals of cloud, at times becoming more overcast, with the possibility of isolated showers. Winds, especially near the coast, may feel a touch stronger Nothing dramatic, but enough to notice.
Easter Sunday offers a more settled picture, with mostly clear skies across much of the island. As the day warms, some clouds may build over the mountains and eastern areas, bringing the chance of a brief afternoon shower.
By Easter Monday, the island settles into a calmer rhythm: mostly clear skies, a bit of afternoon cloud, and a gentle rise in temperatures to near or slightly above seasonal norms.
