COVID: Airport and flight safety measures to be submitted to Ministers

COVID cases on the rise in China

A meeting between Health Minister Michael Hadjipandela and members of the Scientific Advisory Committee has concluded, and specific measures to combat the rise of coronavirus in China have been agreed upon.

The following measures will be presented to the Council of Ministers on Wednesday, 11/01:
- 48 hours prior to departure, passengers arriving in Cyprus from China must demonstrate a negative PCR laboratory molecular test.

- implementing arbitrary spot checks at airports,

- an analysis of airport and airplane waste water; and

- recommending the use of protective masks and the use of personal protective and hygienic measures on all flights, as well as indoors.
