Cyprus' Women's National Basketball Team won the Gold Medal at the FIBA Women's Small Countries European Championship held in Nicosia.
Cyprus beat Andorra 86-51 achieving its fourth victory in four games. Prior to that victory, Cyprus had defeated Kosovo (88-67), Norway (81-62) and Malta (77-67).
President of the Republic of Cyprus Nicos Anastasiades congratulated the team with a tweet on his official account on Twitter.
“Congratulations to the Cyprus Women's National Basketball Team, who tonight (Sunday) made us all proud by winning the gold medal at the FIBA European Women's Small Countries Championship,” President Anastasiades wrote on his account.
