In the local weather forecast, we're currently experiencing the influence of a weak low-pressure system in the area.
Today's weather starts off with mostly clear skies. However, as the day progresses, we can expect the gradual emergence of clouds, particularly in the mountains, south of Troodos, and the eastern half of the island. In the afternoon and midday, these clouds may give rise to isolated showers and thunderstorms. Please note that hail cannot be ruled out during these thunderstorms. Winds will begin as light and variable, at around 3 Beaufort, but will later shift to a light to moderate southwest to northwest direction, ranging from 3 to 4 Beaufort. The sea conditions will be generally calm, with some local choppiness in the afternoon. As for temperatures, they are expected to reach approximately 35 degrees inland, around 32 degrees in the southeast and along the east coast, about 31 degrees in the remaining coastal areas, and approximately 24 degrees in the higher mountain regions.
Moving on to tonight's forecast, we can anticipate mainly clear skies. During the early morning hours, there might be locally thin fog or low clouds forming, particularly in the eastern areas. Winds will predominantly blow from the northwest, occasionally shifting to the northeast, at a light 3 Beaufort. Sea conditions will range from calm to slightly rough. Temperature-wise, expect readings to drop to around 19 degrees inland and on the northern coast, about 21 degrees on the remaining coastal regions, and approximately 15 degrees in the higher mountain areas.
Looking ahead to Thursday, the weather will remain mostly clear, but as we move into the afternoon and midday, we could see some cloud development, potentially leading to isolated rain showers or thunderstorms in the mountainous and inland areas. As we approach Friday and Saturday, the weather is expected to be predominantly clear.
Furthermore, it's worth noting that temperatures will gradually increase through Saturday, surpassing the average values for this time of year.
