The Hackathon on Digital Skills for Teenagers was a resounding success with the participation of 170 students from across Cyprus.

Press Release

The Future Skills Hub of the European University Cyprus, in collaboration with the Department of Secondary Technical and Vocational Education and Training of the Ministry of Education, Sports, and Youth, the Youth Board of Cyprus, and IDEP Lifelong Learning, successfully concluded the Hackathon on Digital Skills for Teenagers. Held on November 22, the event brought together over 170 talented young individuals aged 15–18 from across Cyprus, representing both public and private Secondary General Education as well as Secondary Technical and Vocational Education. Their creativity and exceptional digital skills made the hackathon an unforgettable experience.

This achievement was made possible through close collaboration with the above organizations and the generous support of key sponsors such as Amdocs, Alphamega, CYTA, and ExxonMobil. The initiative also benefited greatly from the contributions of supporters like the Cyprus Computer Society, AXIS, Microsoft, Deloitte, ECOMMBX, Oracle, and ATLOIZOU, who turned this vision into a reality.

Throughout the day, participants worked in teams to develop original ideas and create innovative technological products, including mobile and web applications. With the guidance of 20 experienced mentors from the fields of technology, entrepreneurship, innovation, and digital strategy, the young participants gained valuable hands-on experience and sharpened the skills necessary to excel in the digital age.

At the culmination of the event, the teams presented their projects to a panel of industry experts. The top three teams with the most original and innovative ideas were awarded significant prizes, courtesy of the event's co-organizers, sponsors, and supporters.
