Newsroom
The region is bracing for a mix of weather patterns this week as seasonal low pressure and an unstable air mass move in, promising everything from clear skies to isolated storms.
Today starts off with mostly clear skies, but don't be fooled—by afternoon, expect partly cloudy conditions with a chance of isolated showers or thunderstorms, especially in the mountains and interior. Some storms could even bring hail. Winds will shift from southwest to northwest, starting off light to moderate at 3 to 4 Beaufort, then strengthening to 4 to 5 Beaufort, with gusts up to 6 Beaufort in certain areas. Seas will be slightly turbulent, becoming rough in windward areas by the afternoon. Temperatures will peak around 38°C inland, 33°C on the west coast, 35°C on other coastal areas, and 29°C in the higher mountains.
As night falls, low clouds will increase, and patches of fog are expected to form. Winds will continue from the southwest to northwest, light at 3 Beaufort, and up to moderate at 4 Beaufort in some areas. The sea will remain slightly turbulent in the west and north, calming elsewhere. Overnight temperatures will dip to 23°C inland and on the west coast, 24°C on other coasts, and 21°C in the higher mountains.
Looking ahead, Friday afternoon brings increased cloudiness with isolated showers or storms likely in the highlands and interior. Saturday will be mostly clear, though some afternoon clouds could lead to isolated rain in the mountains. By Sunday, expect predominantly clear skies.
Temperatures on Friday will stay near average for this time of year but are set to rise, surpassing typical values by Sunday.
