A male nurse in Nicosia has been arrested after a hidden camera was discovered in a female locker room.
According to police spokesperson Christos Andreou, an administrator at Nicosia General Hospital notified law enforcement authorities after discovering a hidden camera in a female locker room.
Police officers rushed Monday morning to the hospital where they located a camera in a locker room, which was reserved for female nurses according to local media.
After checking at least one of the devices, investigators determined it was set up to receive a live camera feed from the locker room
Andreou said a 32-year-old male nurse quickly emerged as a suspect and was detained for questioning. He was then transported to a police station where he admitted during interrogation that he was responsible for the hidden camera.
Additional reports said officers obtained a search warrant for the suspect’s vehicle and residence, where a number of electronic devices were spotted.
Following the examination of at least one of the devices, investigators determined it was set up to receive a live camera feed from the locker room.
The suspect is facing charges related to invasion of privacy, while it was not clear whether he would be charged with additional offences.
