A fresh batch of medical supplies and consumables to assist the island’s battle against coronavirus arrived on Sunday evening from China on a flight chartered by the Transport Ministry.

Along with the 24 tonnes of medical supplies, a number of laptops were also flown over to be granted to the Education Ministry.

The news was relayed by Transport Minister Yiannis Karousos on Sunday night, who posted on social media his “wholehearted congratulations to all the services and bodies that helped in organizing and conducting this flight."

China has shown significant assistance to the island since the virus broke out, through the donation of multiple batches of vital medical equipment and protective wear.
