The proposal of the Minister of Health, Mr. Michalis Hadjipandelas, was approved at today's meeting by the Council of Ministers, regarding the granting of a booster dose of the COVID-19 vaccine to persons aged 18 and over, provided that a period of six months has elapsed since completion of their vaccination regimen (from the 2nd dose of the Pfizer / BioNTech, AstraZeneca, and Moderna vaccines or from the Johnson & Johnson monosodium vaccine).
The decision of the Council of Ministers comes after a proposal to the Minister of Health by the National Advisory Committee on Vaccination, which, in a recent session, recommended the start of the vaccination process with a booster dose of the entire adult population.
More details on the exact start date and how the booster vaccination procedure will be performed will be announced in the coming days.
