Employment interviews conducted by the Ministry of labor will begin this Thursday and Friday.  The move aims to match job seekers to prospective employers and is part of an effort to meet the needs of the hotel industry in Limassol and Paphos, provinces that seem to be facing the biggest staffing shortages.

Speaking to Kathimerini, the director of the Labor Department, Alexandros Alexandrou, stated that next week the interviews will be held for open positions in the province of Famagusta and, if necessary, in Larnaca and Nicosia.

Around mid-February, the process is expected to be implemented in other sectors that are also facing staff shortages, namely food retail, catering and the construction industry.

The intention to conduct this procedure was announced by the Ministry of Labor at the end of December, while the schedule set for its implementation was the end of January.
