A foreign woman was arrested Friday on child porn charges in Nicosia, after sending a video to another person on a social media platform.
Sources told Knews the 26-year-old female is a foreign national but her nationality remained unclear. The woman is suspected of child porn possession, as well as disseminating and gaining access to child pornography. Police said the female is also suspected of providing or offering to provide information relating to child porn on the internet.
According to sources, the Nicosia resident used a social networking site to send an electronic file described as “child porn video” to another social media user on the same platform.
A house search warrant was issued and police confiscated the woman’s mobile phone for further testing.
