Over one thousand booked in three-day islandwide police operation

Between Friday and Sunday, 582 drivers were booked for speeding, while over 60 were caught drink driving

Police booked over 1,100 people since Friday in the framework of an islandwide operation aiming to stamp out delinquency and prevent road accidents.

A police announcement issued on Monday said that between July 3 and July 5, checks were conducted on 633 drivers and 680 additional people.

Police booked a total of 1,100 people, 582 of which involved speeding, while over 60 drivers were caught drink driving.

Additionally, police members provided roadside assistance in 56 cases.
