Passing showers ‘come rain or shine’

Dull weather, some sunshine, as low barometric pressure sticks around, Sunday temps go up

Newsroom

Low barometric pressure has been affecting the area over Cyprus on and off in recent days, with rain earlier this week continuing into the weekend.

Thursday skies will be partly cloudy with increasing clouds and some chances of rain in the early part of the day, mainly along the northeastern coast.

Due to somewhat slow changes in barometric pressure over the island, it is possible for some local areas to get a passing shower without significant change in the weather pattern.

Winds will be moderate to strong initially while very strong winds are expected later in the afternoon. Temperature highs are expected to reach 25 degrees Celsius inland and along the coast while it will be 13 high up in the mountains.

Evening skies will be partly cloudy with increasing clouds and moderate winds, with temperature lows registering at 13 degrees in the interior, around 15 throughout coastal regions, while it will be 8 high up in the mountains.

Friday and Saturday skies will be partly cloudy at times with chances of showers and local storms, while increasing cloud formations are also expected at times on Sunday with low chances of showers and a slight increase in temperature, expected to reach above normal averages for this time of the year.
