Authorities in Nicosia are investigating the tragic death of Sotiris Petridis, 43, who passed away yesterday afternoon after a bicycle accident.
Petridis was cycling with a group in a forested area of Strovolos yesterday afternoon when he became separated from the others around 6:30 p.m. After a search, fellow cyclists discovered him unconscious along a forest path.
Emergency services rushed Petridis to Nicosia General Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
Initial police findings suggest that Petridis lost control of his bicycle while navigating a downhill path, resulting in a fatal head injury.
The circumstances surrounding Petridis's death remain under investigation.
