In response to the ongoing challenges caused by the pandemic and the conflict in Ukraine, the prices of meat have seen a steady increase, with pork now facing another surge. Kostas Livadiotis, the President of the Pancyprian Butchers Association, shared insights with Alpha Kalimera, stating that the new price for pork will range from €6 per bone to €6.30. This increase reflects the rise in butchers' costs from €2 to €2.10.
Livadiotis further highlighted that all meat prices have witnessed a staggering 50% increase compared to the past 3-4 years. Recognizing the gravity of the situation, the Association's Board of Directors will convene a meeting on Wednesday to address the concerning price hikes in the industry.
