President Nicos Christodoulides has called for an emergency meeting of Cyprus's National Security Council (NSC) to address recent migration flows and regional developments.

The NSC is scheduled to convene at 11:00 on Friday morning, with key government officials in attendance, including the Ministers of Foreign Affairs, Justice-Public Order, and Defence, as well as the Chief of the National Guard, the Commander of the National Security Service, and the National Security Advisor.

The focus of the meeting will be on addressing the influx of migrants and exchanging views on the evolving situation in the region. The meeting comes amidst heightened concerns over migration patterns and geopolitical shifts affecting Cyprus and neighboring countries.

The NSC serves as the principal advisory body to the President on matters of national security and foreign policy. Its deliberations are expected to shape government strategy in response to the challenges posed by migration and regional developments.

Further details regarding the outcomes of the NSC meeting are expected to be announced following its conclusion.
