Speaking on state radio regarding pensions and simultaneous salary payments to high-ranking state officials, Mr. Letymbiotis stated that no one can renounce their pension.

However, there have been cases where individuals requested not to receive it.

Regarding proposed legislation to be discussed in Parliament on this matter, the Government Spokesperson emphasized that any legislative regulation must align with constitutional provisions, as the executive authority will engage in discussions with the legislative body.

When asked about criticism that the President of the Republic did not declare the source of his pension income, Mr. Letymbiotis responded, "The President declared all his income in his tax returns. He disclosed his financial assets in full transparency. Nothing was concealed."
