A priest in Aglantzia reported to police on Saturday that unknown individuals broke into a local church and stole religious items dedicated to the Virgin Mary.
The break-in is believed to have occurred between August 15 and 17. According to the priest’s complaint, the stolen items include crosses and icons that were displayed in a glass case inside the church.
Authorities quickly launched an investigation, leading to the arrest of two Greek Cypriots, aged 44 and 53, in connection with the theft. The search for additional suspects is ongoing.
