The forecast is feeling fickle: A sun-to-storm shift is brewing

The thermal takedown is on with warmth officially being sent home.

Newsroom

Today's forecast is brought to you by the sky's complete lack of commitment. We're expecting periods of temporarily increased cloud cover. Think of the clouds as guests who can't decide if they want to stay for the party or just stand awkwardly by the door.

The winds, however, have made up their minds. They're starting as a gentle breeze (light to moderate, 3 to 4 Beaufort), but they'll gradually feel the need for speed, becoming moderate to strong (4 to 5 Beaufort) in windward areas. And for those of you in the southwest, brace yourselves, the air will be a locally very strong (5 to 6 Beaufort) spirited push! Naturally, the sea will follow the agitation, being slightly rough to rough on the windward coasts.

On the temperature front, things are still pleasantly warm but varied: a respectable 30°C inland, 29°C on the southern and eastern coasts, a cooler 27°C on the west and north, and a refreshing 21°C up in the higher mountains.

Get ready for the wet and wild week ahead
Tomorrow, Tuesday, is where the forecast gets spicy. The day will start partly cloudy, but hold onto your hats because by the early evening, we're expecting local showers and isolated thunderstorms! The rain party starts in the west and will gradually spread its unsettled atmosphere across the rest of the island.

The fun doesn't stop there! Wednesday and Thursday will keep the theme going with more occasional local showers and isolated thunderstorms.

The big news is that temperatures are finally listening to reason. They will gradually drop until Thursday, falling below the average climatic values. That's right. Summer's overstayed welcome is officially being cancelled!

Enjoy the last warm moments today, but keep that umbrella close and maybe reschedule any outdoor lightning rod inspections.
