During the visit, the Mount Whitney will host a reception for high-ranking Cypriot officials, which will be attended by Vice Admiral JT Anderson, commander of the U.S. Sixth Fleet, and U.S. Ambassador to Cyprus, Julie S. Davis. The crew will also engage with local leaders and have the opportunity to explore the island's rich cultural heritage.
The USS Mount Whitney, operating with a combined crew of U.S. Navy and Marine Corps Sealift Command personnel, is an integral part of U.S. operations in both Europe and Africa, contributing to broader national security objectives.
