Violent incident at school in Ayia Napa

Safety concerns rise as police probe school violence

In recent developments, local law enforcement agencies have initiated investigations into two separate incidents of violence within educational institutions, one involving a student and the other a teacher.

The first incident, which occurred on Monday afternoon (6/11), was brought to the attention of the authorities by a concerned mother. The parent, arriving to collect her child from a primary school in Ayia Napa, reported an alarming encounter.

According to police statements, an unidentified woman allegedly pushed the student from behind and kicked him. The motive behind this unprovoked aggression remains under investigation, with the Ayia Napa Police Station leading the case.

In a parallel investigation, authorities are scrutinizing an incident that unfolded in the free Famagusta region. A 13-year-old student and his parents visited a local police station on the same day (6/11) to report an incident involving an assistant headmaster at a high school.

The minor alleged that the teacher had physically grabbed him by the hair. The case has been entrusted to the Deryneia police station for a thorough investigation.

Both cases have raised concerns in the community, underscoring the importance of ensuring the safety and well-being of students and teachers within the educational system. As investigations proceed, local residents and educational institutions eagerly await updates on the outcomes of these cases.
