Seasonal low pressure is in charge today, serving up a familiar menu of mostly clear skies with a side of mountain-flavored cloud drama.
Today: Sunshine will dominate, though by early afternoon clouds will gather over the mountains, possibly delivering isolated showers. Winds will blow from the southwest to northwest, starting light to moderate (3-4 Beaufort) and later flexing up to strong (5 Beaufort) along the southern coasts, just enough to rearrange your beach setup. The sea will hover at slightly rough. Temperatures: 36°C inland, 30°C on the west and southwest coasts, 33°C on the rest of the coasts, and 26°C up in the higher mountains, where “cool” is purely relative.
Tonight: Mainly clear, but expect some low cloud cover hanging around the western coasts. Later, extra patches may form in the eastern half of the island. Winds will shift to northwesterly to northeasterly, light at 2-3 Beaufort. The sea will calm down to slight. Temperatures will dip to 21°C inland and along the coasts, and 16°C in the higher mountains, cool enough to remember what comfort feels like.
Saturday: Still mostly clear, with the mountains once again threatening an afternoon shower.
Sunday & Monday: Back to clear skies across the board. No theatrics, just straightforward summer weather.
Temperatures: No big changes expected through Monday, staying close to the seasonal average; warm enough to remind you it’s late August, but not outrageous.
