The weak low-pressure system is still lingering, but it’s playing a quieter role today. After some early morning low clouds clear out, most of the island will see a typical bright spring day, though the mountains are keeping things interesting.
Expect mostly clear skies for the bulk of today. However, once the afternoon hits, cloud cover will build up locally, bringing a chance of isolated showers specifically to the mountainous regions.
Winds start off variable and light but will shift southwesterly to northwesterly at 3 to 4 Beaufort. If you're on the southern coast, prepare for temporary gusts reaching a strong 5 Beaufort. The sea remains slight.
The temperature is getting noticeably warmer inland, hitting 30°C. The rest of the island varies from a cool 23°C on the west coast to 25°C elsewhere along the shoreline, while the higher mountains sit at a steady 18°C.
Tonight remains clear, though patchy fog or low clouds might make a cameo in some areas. Winds will drop to a light 3 Beaufort, leaving the sea calm to slightly rough.
The three-day forecast
Thursday & Friday: The pattern remains fairly consistent with clear mornings and locally cloudy afternoons. The mountains stay on "shower watch." Take note: thin dust is expected to hitch a ride on the atmosphere starting Friday.
The Saturday shift: The calm breaks over the weekend. Expect partly cloudy skies, intervals of isolated showers, and a genuine chance of thunderstorms as temperatures finally begin to drop.
We are currently sitting slightly above the seasonal average, a trend that holds steady through Friday before Saturday’s cooling trend kicks in. Enjoy the 30-degree warmth while the dust stays at bay!
