A brand-new day, but the familiar seasonal low-pressure system is still running the show, at least for the next 48 hours. The Met Office has issued Yellow Warning No. 51 today. Keeping up the tradition of hyper-precise scheduling, today's official caution window runs for just two and a half hours, valid from 13:00 to 15:30 as central inland temperatures hit the 40°C ceiling.
Here is how temperatures break down today across the island:
Inland Plains: Right on the 40°C mark under clear skies, with the warning active through early afternoon.
West Coast: Sitting pretty at a breezy 31°C, with morning clouds drifting along the shoreline.
Remaining Coasts: Resting comfortably around 34°C.
Higher Troodos Mountains: Reaching 30°C, though afternoon clouds will gather over the peaks.
Morning winds start light and variable at Force 3 before picking up out of the southwest to northwest at 3 to 4 Beaufort. Later this afternoon, windward coasts will see a temporary surge with gusts hitting 4 to 5 Beaufort. The sea ranges from slight to a little rough.
Tonight, skies remain mostly clear, though low clouds will build along the shoreline overnight. Toward the early morning hours, localized patches of thin fog or fog will form, primarily across eastern and southeastern districts. Winds ease to light downslope breezes at Force 3, with marine conditions settling between calm and slightly rough.

Thursday: Mostly sunny and holding steady at roughly today's temperatures, though afternoon mountain clouds will produce isolated rain showers.
Friday & Saturday: Unstable weather arrives. Clouds build from midday onward, bringing widespread rain and isolated thunderstorms to inland areas and the Troodos range. Temperatures take a noticeable drop by Saturday, returning values right back to normal seasonal averages.
