A young boy was found dead in the swimming pool of an apartment complex in Paphos.
Local media reported a swimming pool incident on Monday morning, when a 4-year-old child was spotted unconscious in the water around 10:45am.
Police rushed to an apartment complex in the Emba area where the little boy was pulled out of the water, with reports saying the parents rushed their boy to a local private clinic where he took his last breath.
CID Paphos director Michalis Nicolaou, who also serves as police spokesperson for the district, said law enforcement authorities were investigating the incident.
Nicolaou suggested investigators wanted to know the location of the parents when their child was in the water, while additional reports said he speculated based on preliminary findings that the death resulted from drowning.
