Total loans in the banking system amounted to €51.1 billion in February, marking a reduction of 1.7% compared with the same period of 2017, data released by the Central Bank of Cyprus show.
Adjusting for currency fluctuations, total loans in February 2018 exhibited a net increase of €41.2 million, compared with a net increase of €53 million in January 2018.
Compared with February last year, total loans declined by 1.7% following a reduction of 1.5% in January 2018.
Total deposits in February 2018 recorded a net decrease of €29.2 million, compared with a net decrease of €557.9 million in January 2018.
Compared with February 2017, total deposits rose by 1.2%, compared with an increase of 1.7% in January 2018.
The outstanding amount of deposits reached €48.7 billion in February 2018, the CBC said.
