In a significant development, the funding limit for theatrical actors has doubled to 40,000 euros from the previous 20,000, as reported by "K" on Wednesday, January 17.

Under the new 2024 operating costs coverage plan, theatrical organizations can now secure financing for up to 80% of their eligible costs.

Notably, the eligible costs now encompass expenses such as insurance premiums, rent, utilities, and the employment of up to two individuals, including roles like cashier, administrative officer, stage technician, and cleaning worker.

Compared to the previous project where the maximum funding was capped at 20,000 euros and eligible costs were covered up to 60%, the upcoming 2024 plan aims to implement a pillar-based approach.

The Deputy Ministry of Culture intends to eliminate "extraordinary" funding, establishing a permanent framework to support theatrical organizations with a permanent home.

Sources indicate that the official announcement of the new 2024 operating costs coverage plan is imminent, expected within the next few days. This will enable theatrical actors to proceed with their grant applications promptly.

Noteworthy is the confirmed increase in the Thymeli project budget by 170,000 euros, as reported by "K" on January 17. The Deputy Ministry of Culture has communicated the grant increase to theaters through official letters.

The upper limit for the first category is now 39,900 euros (excluding tours), while the lower limit is set at 19,950 euros (excluding tours), marking a positive shift for the Thymeli project.
