Following a week of increased uncertainty about the future of the Cyprus peace talks, Averof Neophytou and Kudret Ozersay met at Kormakitis to discuss a way out of the current stalemate.
The two men begun an unofficial dialogue on the sidelines of the UN general assembly meetings in September.
''Whether we agree or not, dialogue is the only civilized way of moving forward'' said Neophytou in a tweet announcing the meeting late last night.
In an interview to Kathemerini on Sunday Neophytou warned of dire consequences if the aim of finding a solution based on a federation is abandoned.
President Anastasiades is on a mission to restart the peace talks and prevent the departure of the UNFICYP, objectives that require at the very least communication with the Turkish Cypriots.
