Cypriot President Nicos Christodoulides will travel to Athens following a positive decision regarding the electricity cable project. On Thursday, he is scheduled to hold a private meeting with Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis.
According to a recent announcement, Energy Minister Giorgos Papanastasiou will disclose the Cabinet's decision at 6 p.m. Reports suggest the Cabinet has approved the agreement, which allocates the geopolitical risk of the project equally between Cyprus and Greece (50-50) and allows for the recovery of €25 million over five years from the Emissions Fund.
It remains unclear if Cyprus will participate in the project’s shareholding structure, with a decision expected in November.
