Discussions surrounding the purchase of an official presidential plane return to the fore.  Sources say that the aircraft is needed due to the increased transportation needs of both the President of the Republic and other members of the government. According to information from "K", the government is in contact with Athens and is considering the prospect of acquiring one of three aircraft that Greece uses to meet the transportation needs of its President, Prime Minister and other members of government.

Greece currently has three types of VIP transport aircraft.

-Embraer EMB-135LR

-Embraer EMB-135BJ Legacy

-GV Gulfstream-V

The EMB-135LR has a capacity of 32 people, the EMB-135BJ LEGACY has a capacity of 15 people and the Gulfstream V has a capacity of 12 people. Athens intended to sell one of the three government aircraft ever since the deal was made on the Rafale fighter jets.
