Another fatal crash occurred on Wednesday morning on the Nicosia-Troodos road near the Akaki roundabout.
The violent collision led to the death of 78-year-old Chrysilios Kyprou from Nikitari, while a second driver was also severely injured and was transferred to hospital.
Though the causes of the collision are still under investigation, preliminary information suggests one of the two vehicles entered the opposite lane and crashed into the other incoming car.
Members of the police rushed to the scene, as did members of the fire service to pull out a person from the crash.
